Summer Flavors

Peaches always make me think of late summer when things start to slow down, the weather is a little less intense, and most family vacations are done, so I can invite friends and family over. Sparkling White Peach Sangria is my go-to co*cktail for these occasions, with its light, sweet flavors, and because I can easily make a pitcher of it and spend time with friends instead of making drinks!

Go bigger with that luscious peach flavor and make Peach Simple Syrup that you can add to more drinks and treats, like incredibly refreshing Sweet Peach Iced Tea!

Tips for Success

  • Frozen fruit is a great option when one or both of the fruits are out of season. Feel free to pick fresh fruit to mix with frozen fruit, too, if you’d like!
  • Wait to add the champagne until you are ready to pour individual glasses. This keeps the bubbles fresh and bubbly!
  • You can use plain, simple syrup in this recipe or make the drink even peachier by using Peach Simple Syrup instead! If you make peach simple syrup, you can hang on to the peaches you use to make the syrup to add to ice cream and other sweet treats- it’s fantastic!
  • While this drink can be ready after it sits for an hour, letting the flavors meld overnight will give you an even more delicious drink, so if you can, make this co*cktail the night before.

Which white wine is best for sangria?

Sangria is full of crisp, sweet flavors that make it easy to drink without feeling like the drink is either too dry or too dessert-ish. Thanks to the balance between the fruit and syrup and the addition of dry white wine, sangria is a drink perfect for brunch and evening co*cktails. To keep that balance, pick a white wine, such as a Pino Grigio, a dry Reisling, or a Sauvignon Blanc, to use in white sangrias.

What is the difference between a Bellini and a Sangria?

Have you ever been out to brunch and watched a waiter bring someone at another table a co*cktail that looked blended but not frozen and so delicious that you couldn’t wait for your waiter to return to order one? That was a Bellini, a drink made with Prosecco and a fruit puree. They are sweet and incredibly delicious! Sangria is made differently, with whole fruit and a mix of wine and bubbly, and the perfect brunch drink no matter what you order.
